Shingle Roofing

Types of Roofing

Asphalt Shingle Roof

Though the most affordable option with the lowest wind rating, 3-tab shingles are still a viable option to protect your home for a budget price. Ask us if 3-Tab shingles are the right fit for your home.

The most common asphalt shingle on the market, the architectural shingle is oftentimes rated for 130 mph wind speeds and offers great impact protection as well. Some architectural shingles can be more resilient than others depending on the manufacturer and shingle class. Ask us which shingle would be best for you and your home.

Not only will your home stand out from all the others with these unique, premium designs, but designer shingles are often times the highest impact and wind resistant rated asphalt shingles on the market. You want a roof that will likely last 40 years? Well, here you go. Ask us for more information.

Metal Shingle Roof

Metal shingle roofs come in varying designs to give your home a premium look, all the while offering some of the best protection since you don't have to worry about cracking or wear like traditional asphalt shingles. Ask us if metal shingles would be the right choice for your home.

Composite Shingle Roof

Composite shingles will give your home, arguably the best protection in the roofing industry. Due to their makeup of durable materials that do not crack, split or peel, these shingles can outlast even metal roofs (since rust is not a factor). Another bonus is they can be replaced on an individual basis. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Give us a call to learn more about this amazing roofing system.

Let's Get Started!

How Long Does A
Shingle roof Last?

Due to the overwhelming majority of roofs in southern Louisiana being asphalt shingles, we will address their lifespan. Each asphalt shingle manufacturer produces different classes of shingles. Like most products available in the world, you have the budget-friendly option, the middle "bang for the buck" option delivering both efficiency and affordability and then your premium options.

But unlike products like cars that you can spend $100k+ on and you get all kinds of electrical issues down the road, the premium roof options truly are worth the money in the long run. Roof quality is not something you want to cut corners on unless absolutely necessary.

  • If the budget only allows a 3-tab shingle, then there is no shame in installing a 3-tab roofing system. It can still get the job done, albeit you will not be withstanding hurricanes and hailstorms.
3-Tab's general lifespan is 12-15 years under normal conditions, and 7-10 years under extreme conditions.
  • Most people opt for the architectural shingle because of the giant leap in performance and durability it offers over the 3-tab option.
Architectural shingles can last up to 30 under normal conditions, and 18-20 years under extreme conditions.
  • Finally, you have your class-4 shingles (usually in the designer category) that can withstand some of the most brutal hailstorms and ferocious hurricane speed winds up to 150mph.
Under extreme conditions, they can last up to 30 years, and up to 50 years under optimal conditions.
